Why you cannot simply book a normal tour on arrival day
Most traditional sightseeing options in Paris are not designed for travellers arriving with luggage. Walking tours cannot store suitcases, and many group tours or hop-on hop-off services require you to arrange luggage storage separately before starting your visit.
The usual alternative is to leave your bags at a locker or luggage storage facility, then collect them again before continuing to your hotel or next destination. When you have just landed at CDG, Orly or Beauvais, this can mean extra journeys across Paris, additional waiting time and less time actually enjoying the city.
A standard taxi ride is also not designed for a multi-hour sightseeing itinerary with several stops and your luggage kept in the vehicle throughout the day. For travellers who want to visit Paris immediately after landing, a dedicated vehicle for the whole journey is much more convenient.
